Hey folks,

Here are 6 things I thought were worth sharing this week:

1. The 10 things my kid learned from a recent long road trip to Spain.

   Charlotte asks, “What?? What happened?”

   “An ambulance tried to squeeze through traffic too quickly and knocked onto our wing mirror. And then he just drove on!”

2. SQL in 90 seconds for entrepreneurs. Also for non-technical readers — what happens when you load a website? What has it got to do with another fact, that the web is stateless?

   You could also write all that in a single line. Indentation in SQL is purely for human readability and so is capitalisation (i.e. you can write select instead of SELECT).

3. Don’t hire assholes. The post-it incident illustrates why.

   An hour later, me and a few of my colleagues were going to lunch. One of them saw the post-it on the way out and casually said to the other something that I will never forget.

4. Notice, meditate, read — 3 steps to reset.

   I’m right in that age range, so I couldn’t help but listen intently. And this morning, those ideas have taken over my mind. They’ve been looping endlessly, asking me questions I’m not sure I can answer.

5. Stories that helped us learn 10 Spanish words.

   He pauses for a moment and says, “I almost said the wrong word.” I press him, “what was that word?!”

6. Beautiful movie - Cha Cha Real Smooth by Cooper Raiff stars Dakota Johnson. It reminds us to want for ourselves what we want for our children.

   How, especially if we don’t know how to crack that problem ourselves?
